Soul Wing, the Basement Hall

Taking the wide, wooden stairs slowly, you feel a warmth emanating from the very air around you as you descend into the amber glow you noticed from the entryway.

As you reach the bottom of the staircase, the true face of the Soul Wing reveals its depth. This stone-finished basement hall is quite an expanse of long, tall, old shelves with dusty old books and a few pedestals with even bigger books on them... Some of the books are opened to yellowed and worn pages, while others sit closed as if waiting for someone to open them like the others. Along the wall near the stairs you just descended are a few tables and mechanical devices that could very well be computers from a long-forgotten kingdom...

Only once you stop to look around do you notice small, amber lights flitting around near the ceiling... and that those firefly-like lights seem to be what's causing the warm, soft amber glow of the area. Every time you reach to catch one, it seems to either slip through your hand or flit just out of your reach...

Looks like they're not in the mood to tell you anything right now... but those large books sitting closed on their pedestals seem to be begging your attention somehow...

Your only way out is back up the stairs you came down... returning you to the South Entrance Hall...
